Our History
Our firm’s heritage can be traced back to 1993 when Lord Spence & Associates was formed. James Spence and Roger Lord decided to break free from the institutional imperative. Their mission was to place their clients’ interest first instead of letting a large wire house dictate what their clients should invest in. In the early 2000s, the firm became Spence Asset Management and was one of the first firms in the Southwest to transition to a fee-only advisory firm. Today, as Westwind Capital, we service clients in 40 states and continue to champion the same independent and autonomous thinking as our founders, keeping our clients’ best interests top of mind.
